Once an applicant’s legal matter has been assessed in our intake process, the advising attorney may recommend referral to an outside organization. Sometimes, outside organizations are better suited for certain case types than LASOC/CLS. This may have to do with complexity, expertise, or resources.
The Public Law Center (PLC) is a non-profit pro bono law firm serving Orange County. Through volunteers and staff, PLC provides free civil legal services, including counseling, individual representation, community education, and strategic litigation and advocacy to challenge societal injustices. With over 30 years of service, PLC works with more than 1,000 volunteer lawyers, paralegals and law students from throughout the county who volunteer their time and expertise.
LASOC/CLS and PLC have a long-standing partnership based on case referrals. Cases referred by LASOC/CLS will be evaluated for placement with a PLC attorney for free services. Referral is not a guarantee of placement.
